We and colleagues conducted two on-line training classes associated with professional society meetings in August, 2022.

Uta Berger, Volker Grimm, and Steve Railsback conducted a one-day course Introduction to Individual-based Modeling: Concepts, Theory, and Software as part of the joint meeting of the Ecological Society of America and Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution, on Sunday, 14 August 2022. Information on the meeting is at: https://www.esa.org/montreal2022/. The course schedule is here.

Steve Railsback and Bret Harvey presented a full-day class on their InSTREAM and InSALMO trout and salmon models, on Sunday, 21 August 2022. These models are designed to support river management decisions by predicting effects of flows, temperatures, habitat modifications, etc., on fish populations. They also are very useful as virtual ecosystems in which to develop and test ecological theory. This class was associated with the annual American Fisheries Society meeting. Information on the conference is at: https://afsannualmeeting.fisheries.org/. Training materials from the class are now at the InSTREAM/InSALMO download page.
